Cambrian Railways Get Into the Christmas Spirit 22/12/2008

The Tywyn School Christmas Musical 2008. The Cambrian Railways Partnership (CRP) has gotten into the Christmas spirit by providing funding to support a local junior football team and a school's Christmas musical production.

Shorts and socks were recently presented to the Machynlleth Hurricanes Under 13 football team who play in the Aberystwyth and District Junior League and a contribution is being made to Tywyn School's Christmas musical production that took place at the School on Tuesday the 16 and Wednesday the 17 of December.

Speaking on behalf of the CRP Gerwyn Jones said "It's great that we are able to contribute to positive local youth activities like these.

The railways have and continue to play an important part in the everyday life of the area both as a means of communication and a significant employer.

Engaging with young people in such ways reinforces this and promotes messages such as the importance of safety near railway lines at stations and on trains"
