Things to see and do!

The CAMBRIAN TRAILWAYS - great linear walks from station to station - taking in parts of the renowned Wales Coastal Path along the Cambrian Coast railway line.

From our Cambrian Archive - too good to remove - just remember to check and double check prices, times, dates etc...

A trip on the Cambrian lines opens up all sorts of possibilities. We're blessed with some of the most picturesque countryside anywhere in the country, and our trains take you from the lowlands of Shropshire due west into Wales through rolling hills and deep cuttings, through farmlands and market towns.

The Cambrian Coast line (change at Machynlleth or Dyfi Junction) takes a diferent approach altogether, travelling up across the top of Cardigan Bay, through seaside towns, harbour villages, tunnels, cliff edges and shorelines.

In addition, between Machynlleth, Aberdovey and Borth you're travelling through a UNESCO Biosphere site - one of around 500 worldwide.

We've produced 3 window gazers that tell you a bit more about what you can expect to see - the Country Gazer for journeys between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury, the Coast Gazer for journeys between Machynlleth and Pwllheli, and the Safari Gazer for Journeys localised between Borth, Machynlleth and Aberdovey. Be sure to look for these window gazers at TIC's and staffed stations along the lines. You can also download these by clicking the links on this site.

We've also arranged for some special deals with various sites and attractions that you might come across during your time in the area, these include 'Bargains and Beaches' which offer some great ideas for discounted as well as free entry sites, 'The Cambrian Aleways' that will point you towards some of the more discerning pubs and taverns accredited by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), and of course our Seaside Strolls and Cambrian Trailways which feature some excellent short walks in the countryside and coastline.
