On a scorching Wednesday afternoon, I boarded the train to Borth once again, to see George and Jo at the Borth Station Museum as they had Rob Shelley from ITV Wales News coming to film a feature on the museum’s unique treasures and local memories.
George and Jo - who both are curators of the museum and are TfW Station Adopters - arrived a little ahead of schedule. It wasn’t open today but curious passers-by were peering through the open doorway, popping in to say hello and admire the displays and listen to the immense wealth of knowledge both Jo and George have.
From the moment he stepped through the door, Rob put us at ease. George and Rob’s conversation flowed like old friends catching up, while Jo and I tactfully kept out of shot - Jo giving impromptu tours to early visitors between takes.

Once the guided tour finished, Rob spent the afternoon capturing every nook and cranny of the museum. He chatted with visitors, recorded George’s stories of vintage railway artifacts, and even asked me a few questions about our community projects. The friendly, unhurried pace meant the essence of Borth Station Museum truly came through on camera.
The finished video has aired a couple of weeks later on ITV Wales News (catch up here) - and it beautifully places the museum at centre stage. To find opening days and special events, join the Borth Station Museum Facebook group and stay up to date with all their news.
